BALDUR SYSTEM USED FOR ALDI'S NEW CONCEPT

December 11, 2018

Part of ALDI's massive expansion (read more here) in the United States is also a drastic change in concept. This new concept is defined by clean, wide aisles with a focus on the products. The batwing optic used in the linear fixtures in this store was therefore the ideal solution. This optic directs light to the shelves, making the product more important than the aisle. The clean look in the store is supported by using Nordeon's system as using just a single system for the whole sales floor area complements the stylish sleek design of the new concept. What is also important is that the trunk can hold a combination of linears and spots, allowing ALDI to use the same system to highlight produce and graphics on the walls.

As produce is becoming increasingly important for grocery stores, this section got additional attention. The grid over the produce area has a combination of linear asymmetric fixtures and Skadi ECO LED spots. This made the the produce section a centerpiece in the store.

Besides the batwing and asymmetric optic, another optic is used for the linear fixtures in the store. Over the checkout area, the diffused (DF2) optic was selected for a pleasant lighting experience for the customer. Another example of how the Baldur system can be used in any area of the sales floor.
